i'm not sure about lures, but air guns don't work if you hunt emu.

You should only hunt something that you eat. Leave the small birds alone. It,s also illegal.

Your sparrows eat insects. Beware of a bigger bug infestation if you manage to kill them. You should use camouflage or concealment. A box with peep holes would work well. You ought to try out bat hunting. Fun watching them dodge a pellet or bullet. At 680 fps, that's very slow for a hunting pellet gun. You should have bought one capable of 1100+ fps. (In most circumstances, a bat will even go unharmed being shot with a shotgun. Only flying bats should be used to watch them dodge harm.)

God will get you for shooting his little songbirdies. And the police will put you in juvie, as this is against the laws of Man, as well. . . .

i am most definitely not anti-hunting but killing something that weighs only a few ounces wont bring any meat to the table so whats the point in wasting the ammo. but if you must just try bird feed in a feeder to get it off the ground and you might even attract a squirrel or 2 and you can eat them for sure. also go get yourself a faster gun

sparrows are not legal to shootair gun quarry is:MagpiesCrows and RooksJays (go learn the look of these, still many experienced hunters leave these as thier responsable for over 40% of our oak trees)JackdawGrey Squirrels (NOT red ones!!!!)RatsWood and Feral pigeonsCollared dovesRabbitsand Minkeggs or a fake baby owl are good magpie lures and you can make a call out of a couple of pebbles in a camera film capbread is good for pigeonsand a dead rabbit cut open is great for crows, rooks and magpies

go to your local bird lovers store and ask what to feed them and lure them in close. I would place the bait so I could shoot out the window while doing other stuff. Have Fun

Listen bubba. People aren't giving you crap about killing something.. they are giving you crap because you are killing for no reason. The only type of sparrow that you may legally shoot is the "house sparrow". The house sparrow is a non native invasive species so you may shoot all of them you like. ALL OTHER SPARROW SPECIES are protected by the federal migratory bird act and thus it is a federal offense to kill them.
