View Full Version : preparing to do Snowboard tricks?
I really wanna move my snowboarding ability to the terrain parks but i don't know how to start learning how to do tricks. i've ridden over a few boxes and gone up a few jumps but nothing really spectacular. i wanna be able to do spins and grabs. how should i start learning these? and simple landings?

start small. Starting to jump on hips is really great because you can determine how high you go regardless of the size of the hip, and as you get more confident you can start going larger. Begin with frontside 180s and once you have them on small jumps move to slightly larger jumps, then learn backside 180s, then backside 360s (easier than frontside 360s because you land spinning to your frontside) As far as grabs go, start with straight airs and indies (grabbing with your trailing hand between your binders on your toe edge) then mutes (grabbing toe edge between your binders with your leading hand) and tail (grabbing tail with your trailing hand). don't start spinning until you have straight airs down comfortably. as far as boxes and rails go, start with 50-50son boxes then move to rails then practice them on the ones you have to ollie onto. Once you have 50-50s down move on to BS boardslides and start with boxes, then rails you can ride onto, then rails you have to ollie onto. wear a helmet and wrist guards. it's takes practice and patience.
