What's the difference between killing dogs and deer hunting?
We all have heard about Micheal Vick, and pleaing guilty to dogfighting charges. My question is if killing dogs is inhumane then why are laws not the same for deer hunting? I have seen in houses people hanging the heads of deers that they have killed. Is that not inhumane, or is killing deers perfectly fine, but killing dogs is inhumane and illegal?

I don't really see a difference. Both are wrong. Why should someone put an animal through so much torture?? I think both should be illegal!

What's the difference between killing dogs and deer hunting?
there is a huge difference between the two. one, dogs r a domestic animal who love people and want to please their owners. deer r a wild animals who hate people and stay away from them. and when ur hunting deer and u kill one ur actually helping the environment. there r so many deer in the environment that they r eating up all the resources. when u kill them u r helping cut down the population. and help the environment flourish when u kill a dog by fighting them all ur doing is lining ur pockets with cash

Mind you, I'm not a big hunting fan. But I do see the difference. The goal of deer hunting to kill a deer in one shot - fast death - and to use the deer for meat. Some people mount trophy heads, which is weird to me, but the rest of the deer is used for food. Government condones hunting because deer populations are extremely high, mainly because territory for their natural predators, such as wolves and mountain lions has been destroyed. Without some legalized hunting to control population, many deer would starve every year. It is a manmade problem with a manmade solution.Dog fighting has no purpose except for humans betting on two animals ripping each other to shreds until one or both dies from its wounds, often slowly and painfully. Anyone who can't see the difference is completely clueless.

yes it is wrong to deer hunt. but lots of animals would become extinct. deer will become over populated quickly if we don't hunt them, because no animal eats deer besides the occasional wolf. deer would eat all the grass, then there would be no food left for them, and they would be wiped out, and all the other animals who eat grass would be wiped out, and the animals who eat those animals would die, and so on. so by hunting we are keeping to population down. there is also laws that say you can only hunt in the season, and you have ti have a license. also you can't shoot the does unless you have a special license. you can't shoot a doe if it has a baby no exceptions! so it is for the best.

What's the difference between killing dogs and deer hunting?
Well, it all depends on the reasons. Killing dogs has no purpose except to amuse yourself by causing harm to other. Hunting on the other part is completely different. When most people hunt, even if they do it for sport, they take the deer, quail, etc. and use it for food. This cuts down their bills, saving everyone money, plus, it helps control the deer population to a point in which the animals do not become overcrowded and move into our territory.

I agree with you. They say that deer are overpopulated but if hunters wouldn't have killed off on their natural predators we wouldn't have that problem would we??? I personally don't see how people can kill any animal. And for those of you who are wondering, I don't eat meat and wear fur coats. I just don't understand the killing of any animal and I really don't understand how people can look an animal in the eye and shoot it. It's beyond me??? I do believe that deer hunters come back as deer in their next life though.

First of all, dogs are domesticated animals while deer are wild life. I personally couldn't kill a deer either but a lot of people that do, do so for food. We (hopefully) don't eat dog meat. Also, it was the manner in which Michael Vick is suppose to have killed these dogs. Drowning and hanging and electrocution. Totally inhumane. He is scum IMHO.

Well, I am not in favor of either one. Last year I held a baby deer, maybe a day or 2 old. I love to watch the deer grazing in a nearby field, or watch a mama deer with a little fawn. Deer are plentiful where we live. I hate to hear the sounds of gunshots during hunting season. Still, most people hunt deer for the meat. I don't approve of it, but I know people who are poor and use deer meat to stretch their food budget. It is not quite the same as killing a dog. Dogs are raised to be a companion, not to be slaughtered for no other reason that for "sport".
