I have NO problem what so ever with it. I'm used to it- that's how we do it down south. Walker hounds, coon hounds, tick hounds, labs, Brittany's are VERY common where I live. I'm not sure if its illegal here in GA to have deer dogs, but they are very commonly used to track the deer after its been shot. Coon huntin is huge down here, so is purdy much every other type of hunting with dogs.

You answered your own questions. Dogs cross property lines, and it's something you can't help. If I'm sitting in a tree on my property and someone's deer dog crosses my fence, it's going to be shot on sight.Dogs make noise, and cover 10x-20x the amount of ground a person does. You go from needing 40 acres to hunt deer to needing more than a square mile. You scare off all the deer that you don't kill. So, does your club have a high-fence? If not, they can't keep your dogs off of neighboring land when they are chasing deer.

I can't stand the people who run dogs for deer. Arrogant and ignorant are the 2 words that describe them. They "justify" their use of dogs by one means or another, when all it really boils down to is, they wouldn't be able to kill a deer if it wasn't for their dogs. Most deer dog hunters wouldn't be able to stalk hunt a deer without the use of dogs. Take their dogs away, and see just how good of a hunter they truly are. I hunt, I hunt deer, I do NOT hunt with dogs unless I'm going for upland bird.

3 years in a row I stalked a really big deer, 3 years in a row just before I could take my shot after months of tracking etc some jerkwad let dogs go and the deer ran to God only knows where. The last year I shot the dogs and went home. If you really need to let a pack of dogs loose to hunt a deer, you shouldn't be in the woods. After my last runin with dogs, I bought 300 acres with some friends and made it private hunting only.

So I guess you have no problem if I am over talking to your wife while you're at work. Seeing as how you see no problem with one man using what belongs to another. You really need to define your question is it about hunting with dogs, or trespassing.

As you can see by the answers it is a pretty hotly debated subject. We have always dog hunted in my state, but it has gotten down to about 2 weeks a year to run your dogs.I do not hunt deer with dogs, but have no quarrel with those that do so. But times have changed and the woods are no longer in large enough tracts in most places to run dogs without it bothering someone. That is the sticking point for most people.I have some friends that still love to dog hunt. They got several like-minded people and leased 35,000 acres of timber company land in order to run their dogs with out bothering any one else.It is a club specifically for dog hunting, and while you are allowed to still hunt if you wish when dog season is not open, you can do so. But when dog season opens, that is the priority. And most that dog hunt do not do it to be more successful, because you aren't. It is for the love of hunting with the dogs, just like rabbit hunting with beagles, duck hunting with retrievers, bird hunting with pointers, etc. But when there is not enough room for deer hunting with dogs, that is where the problem comes in. I can see every ones point that has a problem with it. It's just that the time to hunt with the hounds has come and gone for the most part in the world we live in now.And that's the sad part of all this.
